Call me old school, but there’s something magnetizing about the pictorial arts of oil painting. Belarusian artist Leonid Afremov uses a palette knife and oil on canvas to create his color- and soulful paintings.
Leonid was born in 1955, in Vitebsk, the same town as Marc Chagall the famous artist, who was one of founders of the Vitebsk Art School along with Kazimir Malevich and Wassily Kandinsky.
“I tried different techniques during my career, but I especially fell in love with painting with oil and pallette knife. Every artwork is the result of a long painting process; every canvas is born during the creative search; every painting is full of my inner world” – Leonid Afremov.
